Our Land

Our land has been compared to the beauty of our National Parks without the crowds.

Headwaters is a sanctuary for people and wildlife, a place of beauty, restoration, and connection. Nestled at the base of the Eddy Mountain Range, our 32-acre camp extends into 112 acres of meadows and forest, bordering the vast Shasta-Trinity National Forest.

Once home to the Klamath and Shasta tribes, the land later saw logging and ranching before two major wildfires reshaped it in the 20th century. Today, we steward it with care—balancing fire resistance with natural beauty, ensuring it remains a place of discovery and refuge for all who visit.

Our Forest Sanctuary Gardens

Every corner of Headwaters holds stories from past visitors, reflected in the trails, art, and laughter left behind. Our Memorial Garden, winding through manzanita and towering trees, celebrates loved ones who made a lasting impact, with artwork—including a life-size driftwood grizzly—enhancing the space.

Water flows throughout our land, from Dale Creek to the Little Shasta River, and pristine natural springs supply ancient, crystal-clear water. Towering trees and wildflower meadows create hidden sit spots, inviting you to slow down and connect with nature.

Our Food & Flower Gardens

Our gardens provide fresh, organic produce for meals and a space to unwind. With two greenhouses, an orchard, and thriving vegetable beds, we cultivate food that nourishes both body and soul.

The flower garden is a wild, ever-changing bouquet, shaped by nature’s own hand. Sit beneath an arbor, stroll among the blooms, or simply take in the colors and scents of this vibrant, living landscape.
