To the Land

To the Land

I go to the woods because it’s my home.
I go to the woods because in the woods I feel alive, because in the woods I am home.
Home allows my heart to open wide and in this opening the living earth comes rushing into my heart. Earth heart, one heart, my heart.
Love of place, of planet.
Love grows from this connection and in this love I find myself, my best self. The earth care taker is born in me, my path is clear.
Now I live it. I have to, or nothing happens. Nothing.

What is an Earth Caretaker?

What is an Earth Caretaker?

What is the purpose of humans on planet earth? Why are we here? I’ve asked this question for most of my life as so many others also have. Certainly we wonder about our purpose as it applies to our work in life. Raising children, doing what we love and on and on. All of these things are vital to our mental, physical and spiritual growth.

Headwaters 2017 Newsletter

The land is as beautiful as ever. We’ve been blessed with abundant rain this fall and snow in the mountains. Animals have been thriving all over the land as the land rests and recuperates from a busy year. We’ve had visits from countless migrating birds, toads, frogs, deer, fishers, weasels, skunks, fox, coyotes, bear, bobcats and mountain lions. We had an enormous bob cat kill a deer on the land this fall and all kinds of visitors passing through have cleaned up the remains.
